My passion for cooking began over 20 years ago when I joined my mother in a culinary venture and we created a successful International cafe in Miami, Florida. Being the first generation of Cuban Americans, I was exposed to Cuba’s diverse culture and its colorful cuisine. I am inspired by the recipes passed down from my grandmothers to newer recipes that my mother adapted when they migrated to the United States. In its essence, Cuban food is robust and flavorful, without being spicy or hot. 

I am grateful to be given this opportunity to share a sliver of this vast and rich cuisine and culture with the Black Mountain community and all those that visit. Beatriz (Betty)
